Motocross & Enduro Tyre Sizes

Finding the correct tyre for your Motocross or Enduro bike involves knowing the correct tyre size. The size is usually written on the sidewall of the tyre and can be displayed in a number of different ways. We have detailed an explanation of how the different methods of measuring the tyre can be written below:

Example Tyre Size -  "110 / 90 - 19"

This measures the size of the tyres in millimetres and inches. The first number denotes the width of the tyre in mm which is 110mm in the example above. The second number is the profile or sidewall height as a percentage of the width. e.g. 90% of 110mm in the example above (99mm). The last number is the diameter of the rim (wheel) in inches. in this example it would be 19". Whenever choosing tyres, it is important to select the same size as shown on the sidewall of your existing tyre. This ensures the tyres will fit both the rim and the machine.

Motocross & Enduro Load / Speed Ratings

It is important to always match or exceed the load and speed index on your tyre. These load and speed ratings are the specified weights and speeds that the tyre has been tested and approved for. This is obviously the primary guideline on safe usage and is not something that should be compromised on.

Tyre Load Rating e.g. " 68M "

You can find the load index of your tyres by looking on the sidewall for a number followed by a letter e.g. 68M as above. These numbers and letter relate to a specific load rating and maximum speed rating that the tyres have been tested to and approved for. In the example above, each tyre would be capable of carrying a maximum weight of 315KG up to a speed of 81mph. You can find more information on the load and speed rating in our Tyre Guide section.
